EVENTS:BMI’S 10th Annual Trailblazers of Gospel Music Awards RED CARPET
Mar.18, 2009, under Kingdom Culture, News
Singer/songwriter Kierra Sheard and brother Producer/songwriter J. Drew Sheard arrive at BMI’s 10th Annual Trailblazers of Gospel Music Awards. BMI is a performing right organization that collects license fees on behalf of its songwriters, composers and music publishers and distributes them as royalties to those members whose works have been performed.
Each year BMI recognizes substantial contributions of gospel’s best. This year at their 10th Annual Trailblazers of Gospel Music Awards Luncheon Friday, January 16 in Nashville they honored Twinkie Clark, Donald Lawrence, and CeCe Winans. The invitation-only celebration attracted gospel music’s most noted songwriters, recording artists and music industry executives.
Kierra Sheard
In recent reports Kierra Sheard reveals that she has not only dropped 86LBS but also wishes to drop her nickname KiKi. She expresses to the public that she is a woman and not only that but a woman of God with something to say. Personally I think it’s less about the nickname and more (like most child stars)about wanting to be respected as a minister of the Gospel through song.
Proud parents super producer Rodney“Darkchild” Jerkins and wife Joy Enriquez @ BMI’s Red carpet with eight month old Rodney David Jerkins Jr.
Now saints of the most high(lol), don’t go to Mr. Jerkins Myspace page see all the secular artist and get brand new. We know well and love this man’s music as he has worked with such renowned artist as Yolanda Adams, Mary Mary, The Winans (Phase II), S.O.P. Chorale, and music greats Kirk Franklin and John P. Kee to name a few.
Joy Enriquez a gospel recording artist, recently did a song with popular gospel choir leader/producer-songwriter Tye Tribbett entitled “I’m Gonna Make It”. And Guess What: I like it. Hear this and other songs from Joy at:

Spensha Baker her mother and manager arrive at BMI’s 10th Annual Trailblazers of Gospel Music Awards. I have to say these are some of the most pleasant people I have ever met.
Go to the bottom of this page and click on older post to see other recent post on the 15 year old and learn more of how she is.
Singer/songwriter Deon Kipping was also in attendance. Deon Kipping is most noted for writing loved gospel songs “Incredible God, Incredible Praise”, “I’ve Got a Reason”, and “Praise Him In Advance “of Marvin Sapp’s latest record breaking album “Thirsty”. These songs were previously heard on Deon Kipping and his group New Covenant’s 2006 release Real Life. Real Worship. Honestly I preferred Kipping’s versions (hard to believe when you know how wonderful the other artist performed them) and his 2006 release holds a standing place in my personal Great Gospel Albums of all time catalog.
