This award for “Get Up” marks their seventh career Dove Award for Mary Mary. They were honored Thursday, April 23rd at the 40th Annual Dove Awards, one of the longest running and most prestigious televised ceremonies recognizing Christian and Gospel music. They were also recipients of the 2009 NAACP Image Award for Best Gospel Artist earlier this year.

The sisters, who took their now internationally recognized name to honor Mary the mother of Jesus and Mary Magdalene, have done well since their first album Thankful, their edgy and innovative sound and youthful and sometimes criticized style have not kept them from the forefront of contemporary gospel music.
More than award winning singers, you can now add writers to the list of attributes as Mary Mary recently inked a publishing deal with Simon & Schuster to pen a 160 page devotional collection of inspirational stories, anecdotes and helpful hints for women entitled Be U: Be Honest, Be Beautiful, Be Intentional, Be You! Set for release on February 02, 2010 and priced at $14.99.
The duo is just wrapping up their spring tour with their last performance on April 29 at the House of Blues in Anaheim. Check out the tour pics below!!!
