It seems that we here at the OC can’t get enough of our Girls Erica and Tina-better known as Mary Mary. The May 4th issue of JET Magazine featured our girls on the Cover with the Next Generation of Mary’s- their daughters. The article talks about their marriages, their kids, their careers, and finding the balance in it all! The little Mary’s whether its a photo shoot, an interview, tour, or a performance, are never far from Moms Tina and Erica and  We love it- check out the Ebony Jet Youtube channel as they talk about in depth their stance on parenting (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Loul8UbjbjQ). Bishop Thomas Weeks III of Global Destiny Church, Duluth GA and staff have gone into a major media blitz to announce to the world “The Next Mrs. Weeks”. The Next Mrs. Weeks is speculated to be Pastor Christina Glenn of Victory of Praise Church, Greensboro, NC.

Bishop Weeks III previously married to International Evangelist Juanita Bynum in a lavish wedding in 2002 ended their marriage after the August 21, 2007 alledged domestic assault. Bishop Weeks formally released his intentions to search for “The Next Mrs. Weeks” in Sept 2008 on his ministry website www.bishopweeks.com.

The initial concept was to have 3 couples move into a “big brother” type reality show house with television camera’s for “The Holy Hook-Up”. While in the house the couples would be prepared for “Christian” dating, and potential marriage. During this time Bishop Weeks would also go on a series of dates with candidates that in his own words “must be intimate, sensual,discerning, and not ugly…” The age requirement was 25, with “special exemption for 21 years olds who were classic” specificied by Bishop Weeks.

Pastor Glenn who has made several appearances at Global Destiny  since March of this year has been linked to Bishop Weeks from several Global Destiny insiders. Bishop Thomas Weeks youtube.com channel posted 7 months ago a clip of a staff meeting where his requirements for his ”Mrs. Right” were discussed (We absolutely love the Oscar Winning video production). Talk about modern day “biblical” arranged marriage! She will literally become Mrs. Weeks III- this will be the third marriage for both. One for the father, One for the son, and One for the holy ghost (NBS=Not Biblically Sound). We’ll keep u posted!

 Releasing a star studded CD project earlier this year wasn’t enough for New Birth Missionary Baptist Church, senior pastor, Bishop Eddie L. Long .He is teaming up with actor, writer, director; Robert Townsend to launch Bell Town Productions. The Atlanta based company plans to make films, television shows, web based programs and; mobile content that are inspirational and positive. “Bishop Eddie Long is a visionary,” said Robert Townsend.

 “It is my hope that Bell Town Productions becomes one of the world’s leading film and production companies in developing, producing and marketing innovative programming,” added Bishop Long. The company’s debut venture,” The Gospel Music Theatre,” is a web-based half hour series inspired by real life situations, current events and breaking news.

 The series will also feature musical performances. Robert Townsend is currently casting a diverse group of actors, actresses and singers to star in the series; casting calls were held in Los Angeles and Atlanta in early April. The series is planned for release this fall. “This is just our first project, Robert Townsend explained, “but we are talking about creating more.

  “When I met Bishop Eddie Long, we talked about all the negative images on television and in films. He asked what we could do to create something different, something positive, and out of that conversation Bell Town Productions was formed.” Robert Townsend is the creative force of the joint venture. Bishop Long provides the entrepreneurial support(does this simply mean the money?).

Congrats are in order for Sunday Best Season 2 winner Ms. Y’Anna Crawley. This sangin 32 year old mother of 2 and former make-up artist (which is so evident by the extra stank they put on that face every episode) from Mt. Rainier, MD won this year’s competition beating out Michigan’s own Jessica Reedy (Wow- beating out someone from Michigan is unheard of in a land where the Clarks, Moss’, and Winans Reign Supreme- unheard of I say!!!). Crawley crooned out her 1st single on the show “the Promise” written by Lou “Buster” Brown, Scott “Shavoni” Parker (Buster and Shavoni- we know them for producing hits for Yolanda Adams on her Mountain High Valley Low album, and Bishop Clarence McClendon-”I Came to Magnify” ) and Ryan Parker.  Crawley won a national recording contract and a brand new 2009 Lincoln MKS . We hope she enjoys the brand new Lincoln, and please, please don’t let any of your new found cousins, uncles, or brothers drive it! 

Here’s what Y’Anna had to say after winning:

“Truly the steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord. I feel like I have been preparing for this all my life. The ups and downs, highs and lows, and the uncertainty of whether my dreams would become a reality. God is Faithful and a Promise Keeper!!! I Thank you Lord for sustaining me in moments of  transition. Even when I thought my treasure had lost it’s value, you knew and reminded me constantly of the investment that you made in me. You”re AMAZING! All To you I owe.”

  The man himself Tyler Perry made a cameo appearance in Star Trek- yes We were just as surprised as you are! TP played a commander on the “Starfleet” and No Madea was not on board the ship!Here’s what TP had to say about his experience via his blog at his website www.tylerperry.com :

“I love sci-fi! Did you know that? I do! One of my favorite movies is ‘Aliens..’ It is a very small part but it was so cool being a part of it. And working with J.J. Abrams was the best. ” Perry further advises: “Don’t blink because you’ll miss me. Seriously, if you have to go to the bathroom forget about it. You’ll really miss me. So hold it … LOL.” TP only has 2 scenes in the movie, but hey- he’s on the Ship, whose complaining! 

 In other TP news, a Fulton County Grand Jury indicted Dawne Wilson, a 35 year old Marrietta woman accused of stalking Perry.

Wilson was arrested on April 15th at TP’s studio in Southwest ATL after violating TP’s restraining order when showing up for a casting call to be an extra. An order was issued in Cobb County last year prohibiting her from TP’s home, and business after sending inappropriate emails and making unwelcomed visits to his home.
