Earnest Pugh is set to hit us with a new project due in July!!!! Pugh who’s been most linked to songs such as ”Wrapped Up, Tied Up” and “Holy Spirit” has inked an exclusive recording distribution deal with GI(Gospel Industry) Major Power Player Kerry Douglas of Black Smoke Music Worldwide. The new project will be entitled Earnest Pugh Live: “Rain On Us” (Previously recorded by psalmist Sha’ Simpson).

The CD hits stores Tuesday, July 28, 2009. Black Smoke Music Worldwide which is formerly Worldwide Gospel is also the home of James Fortunre &FIYA (who are busting Billboard wide open with “I Trust You”), Keith “Wonderboy” Johnson, Jimmy Hicks & V.O.I and our friend Shawn McLemore!

Douglas who started the label from his garage back in 1996 has grown the label into one of the largest independent record companies in the GI! Douglas is an overall GI music Mogul with several ventures including being the founder and publisher of Gospel Truth Magazine. This is what Pugh says of his connection to Kerry Douglas… “I have been in constant prayer for God to open a door, a major platform, to release my new album ‘Earnest Pugh Live: Rain On Us’. It seems that out of nowhere Kerry and I went from discussing the gospel music industry to connecting as business partners.”

Pugh plans to jump start the project with a tour set to start in our Nation’s Capital at Temple of Praise (the same location as CD recording). Now if that’s not enough to wet your palliate Pugh’s 17 track CD is enough to feed the healthiest Gospel appetite with Gospel Music Super stars Vanessa Bell Armstrong and Richard Smallwood! Charles Butler & Trinity recorded background vocals (which are stellar by the way) added with Producer Mike Bereal’s “Band of Life” makes for a complete buffet of Gospel Goodness!!!
