GROUND BREAKING CONFESSION: “I WOULD HAVE TO SAY I LEAN MORE TOWARD THE SAME SEX.” TONÉX
Sep.11, 2009, under News
OC readers, you may find this story very alarming. Tonéx, easily one of the most misunderstood and scrutinized gospel artists in history, has made some ground breaking confessions.
(Tonex’s latest CD a R&B release entitled UNSPOKEN)
During a recent interview on The Lexi Show ,Tonex reviled the truth about his psychiatric and medical diagnosis, the real reason behind his four year marriage to singer Yvette (Graham) Williams, as well he answers the question “Are you attracted to men?”.
For the sake of journalistic clarity we will not summarize this interview, rather we will quote him directly:
He states:
“I was eventually diagnosed with anxiety disorder. I never had that before, but as a result of all the events I developed it” He says in reference to losing several relatives including his father in the span of one month.
About his marriage to Yvette:
“I just wanted to make some clarification. The reason why me and my wife divorced had nothing to do with sexual indiscretion, or me going outside, or her going outside of the marriage, or me being gay. While I was with my wife I was very faithful, and I enjoyed having sex with her. We had a wonderful sexual relationship. And that’s why we stayed together as long as we did.”
When asked if he had struggled with homosexuality he says:
“Not struggled. It wasn’t a struggle. There’s still times when I’m like… hmm… I do want kids and I very much love women, but at the same time we have to be honest with ourselves to what it is we have affinity to at the time. And I think because of the experience I had with my first marriage I would have to say I lean more toward the same sex.”
He continues:
“I don’t believe that the sin is sex [with a man] the sin is fornication. If you are sleeping with multiple people and are not in a committed relationship before God with that person [either same or opposite sex], I believe that God is not happy with promiscuity on any front”
“I believe that there are Holy Ghost filled fire baptized gay people”
The entire Tonéx interview on The Lexi Show can be viewed below.
Born Anthony Charles Williams II, Tonex a Bishop’s son, raised in the Penacostal Assemblies of the World or PAW, his life has taken a very daring path. This is what christianitytoday.com had to say back in March of this year:
“Tonéx has seen it all. Since we last heard from him in 2004, he’s lashed out at the industry, faced litigation from his record label, come under fire for both his image and MySpace antics, gone through a divorce, been called gay … the list is endless.
But all of that is past. Five long years since his sprawling yet ultimately erratic Out the Box, Tonéx is finally ready to show more of his true self with Unspoken, his umpteenth album in a prolific discography laden with underground projects, mixtapes, EPs, and digital-only releases (nearly all of them can be fetched on iTunes).
With his legal woes ostensibly behind him, Tonéx is releasing Unspoken on fledgling R&B imprint Battery Records, a unit of Zomba. The new partnership makes sense because Unspoken contains none of the gospel obligations that marked his tenure at Verity Records, the other Zomba subsidiary he once called home. Now, he can let his true musical interests fly. It’s almost as if Tonéx has at long last been given free reign to do on a national scale what he’s been able to do independently for years. Here, the artist is loud and proud about his R&B persona, tapping his Prince, R. Kelly, and Michael Jackson influences like never before—but with the off-kilter, left-of-center idiosyncrasies that are very much Tonéx.”

I pray that God will show Himself to all of us. Jesus is the only one who has the power to save. Salvation is the work of God and not man. When we turn to Him, He will do what He promises to do. He will and can save us inspite of what it looks like. God is the Author and Finisher of our faith.

THIS PART IS REALLY DISTURBING:
I don’t believe that the sin is sex [with a man] the sin is fornication. If you are sleeping with multiple people and are not in a committed relationship before God with that person [either same or opposite sex], I believe that God is not happy with promiscuity on any front”
“I believe that there are Holy Ghost filled fire baptized gay people”
TONEX, HAVING SEX WITH A MAN AND YOU’RE A MAN IS A SIN, NO MATTER HOW YOU TRY TO PACKAGE IT. I THINK IT’S A SHAME THAT YOU’RE SPREADING THIS KIND OF PERVERTED SINFULNESS BECAUSE YOU’RE STRUGGLING WITH YOUR OWN SEXUALITY. ACTUALLY YOU’RE NOT STRUGGLING, YOU’RE DEFENDING IT. I PRAY THAT THOSE WORDS YOU SPOKE COME BACK VOID TO ANYONE WHO’S HEARD THEM.

I think this is an obvious cry for help- We need to PRAY without ceasing!

Ringo, who is a Youtube blogger, did a great commentary exposing the hypocrisy of Tonex (as evidenced in the above interview) according to the Holy Scripture. Go to the following link for all the videos.

Oh and another thing, a “gay” christian is is like dry water – it doesn’t exist. If you were “born” gay, then it is time to get born again.

I am going to allow the Book of Jude to speak on this one:
[1] Jude, the servant of Jesus Christ, and brother of James, to them that are sanctified by God the Father, and preserved in Jesus Christ, and called:
[2] Mercy unto you, and peace, and love, be multiplied.
[3] Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort you that ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints.
[4] For there are certain men crept in unawares, who were before of old ordained to this condemnation, ungodly men, turning the grace of our God into lasciviousness, and denying the only Lord God, and our Lord Jesus Christ.
[5] I will therefore put you in remembrance, though ye once knew this, how that the Lord, having saved the people out of the land of Egypt, afterward destroyed them that believed not.
[6] And the angels which kept not their first estate, but left their own habitation, he hath reserved in everlasting chains under darkness unto the judgment of the great day.
[7] Even as Sodom and Gomorrha, and the cities about them in like manner, giving themselves over to fornication, and going after strange flesh, are set forth for an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire.
[8] Likewise also these filthy dreamers defile the flesh, despise dominion, and speak evil of dignities.
[9] Yet Michael the archangel, when contending with the devil he disputed about the body of Moses, durst not bring against him a railing accusation, but said, The Lord rebuke thee.
[10] But these speak evil of those things which they know not: but what they know naturally, as brute beasts, in those things they corrupt themselves.
[11] Woe unto them! for they have gone in the way of Cain, and ran greedily after the error of Balaam for reward, and perished in the gainsaying of Core.
[12] These are spots in your feasts of charity, when they feast with you, feeding themselves without fear: clouds they are without water, carried about of winds; trees whose fruit withereth, without fruit, twice dead, plucked up by the roots;
[13] Raging waves of the sea, foaming out their own shame; wandering stars, to whom is reserved the blackness of darkness for ever.
[14] And Enoch also, the seventh from Adam, prophesied of these, saying, Behold, the Lord cometh with ten thousands of his saints,
[15] To execute judgment upon all, and to convince all that are ungodly among them of all their ungodly deeds which they have ungodly committed, and of all their hard speeches which ungodly sinners have spoken against him.
[16] These are murmurers, complainers, walking after their own lusts; and their mouth speaketh great swelling words, having men’s persons in admiration because of advantage.
[17] But, beloved, remember ye the words which were spoken before of the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ;
[18] How that they told you there should be mockers in the last time, who should walk after their own ungodly lusts.
[19] These be they who separate themselves, sensual, having not the Spirit.
[20] But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost,
[21] Keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life.
[22] And of some have compassion, making a difference:
[23] And others save with fear, pulling them out of the fire; hating even the garment spotted by the flesh.
[24] Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy,
[25] To the only wise God our Saviour, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and ever. Amen.

“I just wanted to make some clarification. What man of God talks like this before the public…When did we start talking about divorce so loosely

?????…Right is still right Tonex is conflicted with being gay and is tired of fighting to overcome!! You cant be filled with the Holy Ghost and walk in disorder it is and oxymoron. I aint judging but the Bible is still right. There have been times in my walk when I kew I was outside of the will of God .I did not try to justify it I was just wrong! Somebody is wrong and it aint the Bible could it br TONEX. Boy Tonex has something special that God gave him a gift and a calling He is not walking in it!

This gave me the chills, but I am not surprised! Tonex’s behavior over the last few years raised red flags that something wasn’t right. Now he’s just out of the box. Tonex needs lots of prayer, I literally prayed right after watching these interviews. “Lord, I don’t want to be lost. Help me to live a Holy and separated live in this present world.” Our issues may not be the same, sin is sin. The devil is bolder now, more than ever. Read 1 Timothy 4! It put this interview into so much context. Let’s pray earnestly for Tonex.

WOW!!!
“I don’t believe that the sin is sex [with a man] the sin is fornication. If you are sleeping with multiple people and are not in a committed relationship before God with that person [either same or opposite sex], I believe that God is not happy with promiscuity on any front”
I’m at a lost for words after reading THAT particular section. Tonex, will be in my prayers.
