SHOCKING NEWS: TEENS DO THE UNTHINKABLE IN ORDER TO SET CHURCH BUS ON FIRE
Mar.11, 2010, under News
Ruthford County, Tennessee teens stir up chaos when they disrespect the Lord in one of the worse ways. Brace yourself folks.
Authorities reported that last Thursday evening the group of teens used pages from the Bible in order to add fuel to their fire while setting Middle Tennessee Baptist Church bus ablaze. Soon after the teens saw no logic in what they were doing and decided to cease this nonsense, trying to put it out with an extinguisher. Fire officials made the assumption that the teens were just acting foolish and having fun. Members of the church as well as the investigators saw no humor in it what-so-ever.
Assistant Pastor Joel Young said “The disrespect to God’s property is how we see it.”

As of now the church parking lot which still contains elements from the burned Bible is under arson investigation. The pieces of the Bible and the extinguisher are being used as evidence, and as a means of catching the culprits who ran off before anyone could stop them. “Hopefully we’ll get some information from it,” said Assistant Chief Allen Swader with the Murfreesboro Fire Department. If caught these arsonist will more than likely face vandalism and arson charges.

This horrible incident has set the church back a bit. The busses are used for church missions and providing services for the community. “These buses are the heartbeat of the church. Some of the buses you see go pick up children who can’t get rides to come to the church. We provide that for them,” said Young. Young along with many were in disbelief that out of all things the Holy Book would be their pick for creating a fire. Young said, “Even in my earliest youth I had respect for the word of God. I couldn’t imagine doing something like that to a Bible. I don’t know what folks were thinking when they chose that to burn.”
This is not the first time that the church’s property has been vandalized but hopefully it will be the last.
