This should be interesting considering everything she has been through in the last two years ,from her divorce from Bishop Weeks to her starting  The Warehouse a ministry she pastors in Georgia.

The sweets sounds of The Soweto Gospel Choir earned the award winning gospel choir another Grammy to put under their belt. This mind-blowing gospel choir also works closely with orphans and victims of AIDS . The Soweto Gospel Choir began collecting their share of Grammy’s in 2004 with their their first CD project “Voices from Heaven” In 2009 they released “Live at the Nelson Mandela Theatre Grace, Inc.” which would also gain the choir a Grammy Award nomination.

The Soweto Gospel Choir’s five year existence almost seemed like it came overnight as they are now known as a multi award winning sensation. In 2003 they won a Helpmann Award, Australia’s prestigious Performing Arts Award for “Best Contemporary Music Concert”. In May 2004 they won the American Gospel Music Award for “Best Choir”.

Just last year the choir became the first South African artists to perform at the Academy Awards, when they sang “Down To Earth” for Gabriel and Newman’s Oscar nominated song with John Legend. With this choirs angelic sounds and background fool of prestigious awards it won’t come as a surprise if they steal away a Grammy again next year!

Angelic voices and God given talent waiting to be discovered, get ready to dance and shout because BET’s hit show “Sunday’s Best” is returning for its third season! For three years the show has helped to unravel some of the world’s greatest gospel talents with hit sensations such as last season’s winner Y’Anna Crawley.

And guess who else is returning to the show! Yes, our favorite author, humanitarian and notable gospel recording artist Kirk Franklin will host the show once more and Mary Mary as well a new addition to the show Donnie McClurkin will also return as the newest judge.

The show holds three casting calls that began February 20 at Cobb Hall in Detroit, Michigan. Auditions will then move to Ernest N. Morial Convention Center in New Orleans, Louisiana at the end of this month. The third and final audition will be held at the Pennsylvania Convention in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on March 6. Auditions were also held in Africa.

Y’Anna Crawley shows us once more why she was delivered the crown on BET’s gospel show “Sunday’s Best” The new gospel recording artist sung her heart out for a crowd of more than 2500 in a concert on January 31, 2010 at the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C. The concert also featured The Washington Performing Arts Society Gospel Choir.

Crawley for sixteen years was a faithful member of WPAS and was also a part of the organization when they sung at the January 2009 Presidential Inauguration. The concert entitled “A Time for Renewal and Restoration” was the choir’s way of uplifting the community’s spirit from struggles of everyday life.

“I believe it’s the words, the lyrics. For people to know that there is hope, especially considering the economy and what’s going on in Haiti, it helps in these trying times. Music really speaks to you and encourages you through everything. Just because you’re hurting and crying today, that doesn’t mean that you’ll be hurting and crying tomorrow.” Crawley told Express.

The 32 year old has almost been in the game for a year now as a major recording artist. She is now preparing her first CD, The Promise. The OC will be sure to keep you posted on her new music!

It seems as though Gospel Music will be playing an enormous part in this year’s 41^st NAACP Image Awards. Gospel princess’ Mary Mary is the only Gospel song up for an award in the category of “Outstanding Song of the Year” The Awards program celebrates outstanding achievements and performances ranging from music to movies.

Last year Hezekiah Walker, Marvin Sapp, Mary Mary, Regina Belle and Take 6 were nominated for “Outstanding Album of the Year” This year, Shirley Caesar, Vickie Winans, Fred Hammond, BeBe & CeCe Winans and Donnie McClurkin are the nominees in the category.

This year’s celebration will be held in Los Angeles, California in the Shrine Auditorium on February 26, 2010. It will air live On FOX at 8.pm. The OC congratulates our gospel favorites!
