For the first time in its 42-year history The Dove Awards show left Nashville and moved to the ATL, commencing in The Fox Theatre. In the spirit of Hotlanta the theater was full of excitement tonight as Gospel’s finest filled the room with songs of praise.

With promise of a  wonderful show none of us could wait for the amazing historical performance in“The Singing Pastors” segment featuring Donald Lawrence and Pastors, Smokie Norful,Bishop Darryl Hines, Marvin Sapp, Bishop Paul S. Morton, and Deitrick Haddon. The men didn’t disappoint, everything  we wanted was in this performance as they sang of unity and Gods love.The song (we’re amusing written by Donald Laurence, who stood stage right narrating) said this:

“In our hearts we’re undivided bound by his siprit forever more.”

Ultimate power couple  David and Tamela Mann have been a busy pair lately and looking amazing all the way through. Who are their stylists??? In March the two appeared at the 42^nd Annual Image Awards looking sleek and fashion forward in their black. On this Wednesday April 19 the two were in California celebrating the release of “Tyler Perry’s Madea’s Big Happy Family” in which David Mann stars in as the popular character Mr. Brown. To top off an already amazing week the two flew back over to Atlanta for the taping of the Dove Awards where Tamela accepted the award for Traditional Gospel Album of the Year.

Both at the height of there  careers, it is obvious that they are also more in love than they have ever been.  In a recent interview with Steve Harvey on TBN the two talk about their 23 year marriage and the prayers they pray that keep them together. They also brag and celebrate the fact that they have never been separated. Their interview starts at 1:30 check it out below . It’s sooooo funny.

This weekend marks a very special time in the life of K im Burrell.Occurring right now in real time Burrell is being  installed as senior pastor of  Houston’s Love and Liberty Fellowship Church. This weekends installation services include iconic features/Pastors Shirley Caesar, Bishop Hezekiah Walker and guest speaker Bishop Liston Page II, Senior Pastor of The Highway Church of Patterson, NJ.  The installation service was today at Saturday at 12 noon.

But this is no overnight occurrence.In the last 12 months we have all watched an amazing story unfold.From three undetected heart attacks, to 100lbs shed along with the box many wanted to keep her in…2010 was Lady Kim’s year to declare “I’m here! and Living the New Life”. Burrell started 2010 with a new look and a new message, that many were not ready for!!!

But as the days after her relaunch followed, she slowed  down and took the time to hold a press conference . Giving fans a full understanding of her new found confidence. Letting us all know “I Believe In You & Me” she makes the unofficial announcement  “ One of the greatest love of my life is the ‘Love and Liberty Fellowship Church, where God has called me to lead people closer to God” .By 9:55 when shes singing ‘Without You’ your very soul will be touched.Let’s watch…

Out of Chicago, IL this choir has been around for over ten years, and with two Stellar wins and countless show dates they have proven staying power.Founded by Rev. Charles Jenkins, currently under the leadership of Percy Gray Jr. (New Direction, Chicago Mass), with extended help from his younger brother Jerald Gray (New Direction), the respected GrayBoyz have given JT ( as the choir is affectionately called) a new sound and a face lift.

Not to worry, however JT hasn’t gotten bran new… Along with there energetic/ bluesy delivery they can still put it down ‘real church’ style!!! Like their 2007 hit ‘Everybody Clap Your Hands’ from the JT3 album seen below.
