Woooooooow…When… in the world… did this become the way we relay the Lords Gospel. I am sick to my stomach, and I know God can’t be pleased.  My heart has been heavy for sometime now about how sick this body (The Lords Body) is. All the slander,all the Propaganda, youtube rants,when will it stop.Part of me hears my Pastor saying “TIIIIFF…Make sure OCT isn’t wrapped up in your opinion!” And you must know ,I really do work at OCT not being ‘That Site’…you know…the gospel opinion site slathered in scripture to hide it’s true message. Yet deep down in my utter most (hallelujah amen) I feel a burning that won’t leave me alone.

I attended the Stellar Awards week of events and had an amazing time. Got home turned on my PC and wanted to get to wk on telling you about all the wonderful workshops, jaw dropping performances,  of course you know I’m gonna want to talk about the clothes and fashion, but more importantly how New Beginnings and Open Doors were the true theme of the weekend.  West Morgan,Vashawn Mitchell and The Nevel Sisters finally received prominent placement on the actual Stellar Awards Show.(which btw I witnessed The Nevel Sisters rehearsal performance…floored… brought even the production crew to a stand still. And when they were finished  Don Johnson(owner of the Stellar’s) even said “Well I think we have our new group”)Yaaaaaay!!! Claps and Cheers are in order. Pastors Donnie McClurkin & Marvin Sapp gave a tearful yet power filled tribute to Sapps late wife Dr.Melinda Sapp. JJ HAIRSTON & YP……Drumroll please…..Opened the Show……And most exiting for me:) my Pastor…Pastor Gregory B. Drumwright launched a video gospel show at the Stellar’s,‘Praise Power w/Pastor Greg Drumwright’, for Network TV.O yeah and I launched a show  as an extension to this site ‘OCT TV’(details to come soon) due for release med February.

But with all my excitement in view, I was met by headlines of backbiting, backstabbing, and belittlement. What was most shocking, you see in the picture above. A headline from a popular site that claims to “mark individuals that  cause divisions and offenses contrary to the doctrine which we have  all learned” based on Romans 16:17-20. But I’m sure we can all agree that Paul himself, author of  Romans didn’t spend his life’s work  launching  Campaigns to tear down people,place it on DVD and sell it to the multitudes for 74 Gold Coins(straight face):-/!!! Both Paul and our ultimate example Jesus, concentrated the majority of their time tearing down demonic spirits and teaching people how to LIVE.

You have to be kidding me.Babies are dieing in Haiti. African American Women have the highest percentage of  death to the Virus called AIDS in this here America …the Beautiful, from Sea to Shining Sea!!! Working people have succumb to poverty, self-pity, and homelessness. While  young people suffer from mental degradation and lack of education in any given city in this nation.

But your life’s mission is Homophobia, hearsay,and opinion polls. Very Very Sad. This distraction from bigger more fulfilling work is a cancer that must be ignored. I don’t know much. But this I do know.When I was sinking deep in sin it was Gods Love that delivered me Out and My Church home that would not let me go. Now run tell that! lol…Well I digress… The Milk Crate is Back in the closet(Big Smile).

While other sites plant spies to sabotage the success of an entire event.OCT was also at  the 2011 Bonnerfide Radio Anniversary Party working on the Red Carpet doing interviews and worshiping  in between. The event founded by radio personality Gerard Bonner and hosted by Torrence Glenn of BET.com featured some amazing artist.You can check some of them out throughout this post. Got a chance to chat with B and you must know she really is just as beautiful in person as the pics.Really sweet girl.Got a chance to interview  Da Truth(that you’ll see on OCT TV) with my jovial personality I had him singing and dancing(I know I can’t believe it either Da Truth singing).I asked him what was his biggest gift to his wife and in a very transparent reply he explained that during his fallen state he was very verbally abusive to his wife. So in God restoring his mind back to righteousness, he knew it was important to restore his wife. So he romantically picked her up early from work one day wisped her away to hair nails and gown and ushered her in limo to the couples back yard where 200 invited guest, witnessed them renew there vows.O and if I didn’t mention CeCe Winans and Maurette Brown Clark were both invited to serenade them.ooooooooooooo I love it.

Troubled rapper DMX born Earl Simmons was scheduled to be the headliner of a “Gospel Rap Extravaganza” held by Morning Star Sanctified Church March 6, 2011. Tickets for the show ranged from $35-$40. DMX and his wife have been members of the church for 8 months now. He displayed generosity by wanting to help the church raise money for repairs; therefore he agreed to perform for free.

However when venue owners heard of the rappers intent to perform, they quickly cancelled the show afraid of what type of chaotic crowed he would attract. Obviously Venue owners had amazing foresight. Unfortunately no more than 3 days after he was scheduled to perform DMX was arrested due to probation violations. DMX admitted to his probation officer that he had been using drugs. As a consequence the rapper is back behind bars. Continue to lift up his wife and children during their continued stress. Check out some of DMX’s Gospel Rap below.

At times questions have been raised about Cheryl “Coko” Clemons, lead vocalist of the popular 90s group Sisters With Voices (SWV), since she made the decision to began a Gospel career while remaining an R&B artist. Clemons started off her career as 1/3 of SWV; their first CD debuted in 1992. The group maintained a successful career until deciding to split in 1999 due to differences that began two years prior. With the fail of solo album “Hot Coko,” and after being off the scene for more than five years she turned to Gospel. “Graceful” was released October 2006 landing her at #5 on the Top Independent albums chart. Recently she released her sophomore gospel album “The Winner in Me” which landed her at #4 on the Billboard chart.

Throughout her gospel career Clemons has continued to perform her R&B hits along with SWV group members Leanne “Lelee” Lyons and Tamara “Taj” Johnson. The group has appeared on several shows together, as well as touring all over since their reunion in 2005. Some gospel fans may get the notion that she is straddling the fence. They may feel as though she should have her mind made up as to whether or not she wants to sing Gospel or R&B. But for Clemons there is no choice to be made.

Coko has made it very clear that R&B music will always be a love of hers, it was the foundation of her singing career. What she feels people fail to be knowledgeable of, is that gospel music has always been a part of her background. Her mother was heavy on religion and very active in the church. In fact while being interviewed on the Monique Show, group member “Lelee” recalls how they had to sneak and practice there vocals and performances when Clemons mother wasn’t around; she did not agree with singing any music other than that of the Lord.

It’s in her to have a passion for both. Though she still performs her secular hits, she always make sure her religious morals play a part, for example cutting out explicit words, and not performing songs such as “Downtown.” “I don’t like to put myself in a box,” she says about her decision to maintain a dual musical identity. I’m an artist who sings positive music.”

Coko continues to release positive music with songs such as her single “The Winner in Me” which may serve as an inspiration to listeners who may be going through and need to be reminded that they need not fret because they have a winner in them, and his name is Jesus.

For this edition of ‘Really…Ok…’ we feature a interview of Lisa Ray a very popular Hollywood actress in the media most recently after forfeiting her title as First Lady and leaving her husband of 3 years Prime Minister Michael Misick the Premier of Turks & Caicos Islands because of irreconcilable differences.

In this interview Lisa is asked what she does to develop herself spirituality and her reply is ‘yoga’. She further explains that because she practices yoga, meditates, is a former Buddhist, presently a Christian, and being raised Baptist gives her a “strong spiritual foundation” that “makes her every woman”. Really…Ok….

This story was almost titled “Exciting News!!!Lisa Ray Professes Her Salvation” because we are, so excited about her profession and pray that God will continue to develop our sister (as he does for all of us) in the word and knowledge. We just got a little lost in her interpretation of being ‘every woman’. Check it out…

I must also add that while I have never “practiced” yoga in the sense of study, I have been to a couple of the exercise classes. These classes were very relaxing and I enjoyed them. In fact, I would still be taking the classes if it were not for my personal research on the truth behind yoga. The video clip that we are also providing, (a teaching from New York Times bestselling author Bishop George Bloomer best known for his books on demonic influence) teaches about yoga and its affects.
